Chinese and U.S. Patents Issue to Grant Life Sciences for Its Blood Test That Detects Cervical Cancer

Grant Life Sciences (OTC Bulletin Board: GLIF) announced today it has received notice from the China Patent Office that Patent No. ZLO38150247PEPTIDES FROM THE E2, E6 and E7 PROTEINS OF HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUSES 16 AND 18 FOR DETECTING AND/OR DIAGNOSING CERVICAL AND OTHER CANCERShas issued to the Company.

In addition, the Company also announced that it has received notice from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office that Patent No. 7,316,908PEPTIDES FROM THE E2 PROTEINS OF HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUSES 16 AND 18 FOR DETECTING AND/OR DIAGNOSING CERVICAL AND OTHER HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS-ASSOCIATED CANCERShas issued to the Company.

While we are excited by both of these events, in particular this action by the Chinese government clears a path for us to move forward confidently as we seek a China-based development-and-commercialization partner for our serum-based test for cervical cancer in the largest market in the world, said Hun-Chi Lin, Ph.D., Grants President and Chief Scientist, and we fully expect that this Chinese patent will help us realize our goal of a Chinese partner.
