Golf Swing Instruction Videos - Five Reasons Why They Are One Of The Best Ways To Improve Your Game
Publish Date : 10/22/2007 11:15:00 PM   Source : Sports News Onlypunjab.com

Recently I was comparing golf swing instruction videos to instructional photos and photo sequences (like those seen in golf magazines). While the still photos have their place, I think the golf videos present a much better learning tool.

You may be asking yourself why I was sitting around making comparisons about instructional methods. Well, this was not really an intentional thought. Rather it was one of those "eureka!" moments.

I was looking at the last issue of a golf magazine, and I suddenly found myself bored with the instruction I would have otherwise been devouring. It seems our ever growing desire for more media-rich content and entertainment holds true for more than music videos!

So here are my reasons why golf swing instruction videos are better than the traditional paper magazines.

1. Watching a video provides the greater "overall" experience. Still photos with brief pointers are great, but how often do you swing in 16 disconnected movements? Never.

2. Golf swing instruction videos still provide the same still pictures, or freeze frame images. The difference now is that the video is made to connect that image to the rest of the swing by showing quick takes between the full swing and the snapshot. This is a huge advantage!

3. Golf swing drills are much easier to understand and practice correctly when you have seen them demonstrated fully. This is another terrific advantage because it gives you more than a simple outline of steps to follow. When you see the drill in its entirety, you are more likely to understand it and use it. Thus it is more likely to improve your golf game.

4. Golf swing instruction videos are more likely to be kept and easily found. Most of my golf magazines eventually find the wastebasket. But my golf DVD's are right on the shelf with the rest of my movies. Any time that I want to go back and watch a specific portion of the golf swing video, I can easily do that. In my opinion, this is much easier than hunting for a specific article in an old magazine.

5. Finally, there are now several good golf swing instruction videos on the market. These videos are comprehensive, provide a lot of detail, and thoroughly cover the swing topics they address. Whether you are wanting to learn to hit the driver, master the bunker shot, or work on your short game, you will find a golf swing instruction video that is exactly what you are looking for.

I am sure that I could come up with more reasons why I prefer golf swing instruction videos over plain books or magazine instruction. But really, what is the point?

It all comes down to your preference. Oh....I almost forgot. I still think your first preference should be getting one on one instruction from a golf instruction professional.

But when you don't have that opportunity, or you simply want to learn at your own pace and at your convenience (I think this is reason #6), then golf swing instruction videos are the way to go.
