BridgeHealth International, Inc. (http://www.bridgehealthintl.com/), a premier health care service provider with an outcomes-based measurement system to guide the delivery of international medical care, today announced that Andrew Dombro, M.D., a prominent medical executive and professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, has been named chief medical officer. Dr. Dombro will provide medical and clinical expertise for the companys growing international medical tourism network of physicians and accredited hospitals.

An experienced clinician, educator and healthcare executive, Dr. Dombro brings to BridgeHealth International professional leadership that is expected to drive and shape the quality of our portfolio of medical services, said Victor Lazzaro, Jr., CEO of BridgeHealth International (BHI). His senior level position as a hospital consultant will enhance BHIs implementation of priority customer services coupled with significant savings on high value medical procedures.

BHI serves health plans, insurance carriers, employers, third party administrators, and individuals accessing benefits via voluntary benefits plans, health card programs or Consumer Directed HealthCare Plans (CDHP). BHI also assists consumers seeking medical travel options.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Dombro practiced medicine in a variety of settings for more than 20 years. In his current faculty position, he teaches and mentors medical students and residents in the Universitys Division of Internal Medicine Hospital Medicine Section, where he was honored as a nominee for the 2007 Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Dombro is also currently a regional medical director for a prominent national hospital consulting firm and a sought-after lecturer who has presented widely at medical conferences. Previously, he worked in several executive positions for medical facilities and has also served on the boards of numerous medical groups.

Dr. Dombro received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed residency training in Internal Medicine from the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physiology from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

BridgeHealth International is taking a leadership role in the growing medical tourism industry, with an outcome-based measurement system that optimizes the healthcare experience for patients who travel outside the United States for medical care, says Dr. Dombro.

BHI arranges cost effective care, easy access, and travel to key destinations where the physicians and medical facilities are of the highest caliber and have Joint Commission International (JCI) or equivalent accreditation. BHIs all-inclusive, transparent pricing plan spans surgery/procedure costs, airfare, lodging, transfers and a full concierge service, and their programs integrate seamlessly with conventional health benefits plans to simplify the medical travel process for patients, employers, and payers alike.
