Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Dombro practiced medicine in a variety of settings for more than 20 years. In his current faculty position, he teaches and mentors medical students and residents in the University’s Division of Internal Medicine Hospital Medicine Section, where he was honored as a nominee for the 2007 Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Dombro is also currently a regional medical director for a prominent national hospital consulting firm and a sought-after lecturer who has presented widely at medical conferences. Previously, he worked in several executive positions for medical facilities and has also served on the boards of numerous medical groups.
Dr. Dombro received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed residency training in Internal Medicine from the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physiology from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
