CapRock Communications, a global provider of satellite communications to harsh and remote environments, has appointed Ron Long as VP of global engineering. In this role, Long will oversee the company’s satellite communications infrastructure and lead technology development and planning – building even stronger services around the world. Long moves into this role from his former position as the company’s director of engineering.
“Since joining CapRock, Ron has played an integral part in expanding CapRock’s services to customers with increasingly global operations,” said CapRock COO Bryan Olivier. “His strong telecommunications background and proven leadership skills have enabled CapRock to increase its network reach and capabilities while maintaining its focus on reliability.”
Long brings more than 15 years of experience in the information technology sector that includes serving as co-founder and managing partner of WNSC Limited, an Internet service provider which grew to become one of the most successful providers in the Southwest Texas region. Previously, he also held the position of technical consultant for Platinum Technology Services, an IT solutions company servicing the oil and gas industry and also held other management positions including director of data and engineering for an integrated communications provider.
“Having someone with Ron’s calibre of experience will add significant value as CapRock continues its global growth strategy,” Olivier added. “Customers have come to count on CapRock’s uncompromised communications as a key component in their critical operations. I am confident that Ron will further strengthen our global infrastructure to better serve customers as they move into new regions around the world. We congratulate Ron on his new position and welcome him to the leadership team.”
