SMC Networks’ New 24-Port Switch with Gigabit Uplinks Extends SMB and Builds Entire Small Business Networks for Less than $7/Port
Publish Date : 1/29/2008 5:35:00 AM Source : Networking News Onlypunjab.com
SMC® Networks (www.smc.com) today announced the newest in its EZSwitch™ family of easy-to-install and use Ethernet switches, the SMCFS26 24-port 10/100 Standalone Unmanaged Switch with 2 Gigabit ports. Ideal at the center of a small network or at the edge of a larger one, the SMCFS26 makes clear connections to distances of 100M, two of which support high-bandwidth Gigabit connectivity for server or cross-network connection speed. Available now, the EZSwitch 10/100 Standalone 24-port Unmanaged Switch brings 24 solid connections—plus two Gigabit links—to the network in a 1U package for less than $7/port at its MSRP of $159.99.
Delivering a complete, efficient small network in one device with fast 1G server links, or extending the SMB network at the edge, the SMCFS26 features auto-MDIX to reduce the complexity of installation while eliminating the need for straight-through and cross-over cabling for connecting PCs or other networking devices. Its compact, fanless design makes it ideal for desktop or rack-mount placement; and non-blocking architecture ensures smooth, reliable performance.
“We are committed to bringing our customers the full range of quality Ethernet technology—from cutting-edge technology to simple, practical solutions,” said Iain Kenney, Director of Product Marketing, SMC Networks. “In line with SMC’s strategic initiative to maximize network efficiency, speed and bandwidth for a variety of network applications cost-effectively, the EZSwitch 10/100 SMCFS26 is an example of a simple, practical solution for today’s small to mid-sized business network. This switch supports an entire small business network with fast 1G server links and steady 10/100 desktop connections—and does it at a price that enables it to win out in more cost-benefit analyses.”
The new EZSwitch 10/100 Standalone 24-port Unmanaged Switch is available now, at an MSRP of $159.99. |
