Publish Date : 12/12/2007 7:57:00 AM   Source : IT and Management News Onlypunjab.com

GenSpring Family Offices (formerly Asset Management Advisors), one of the nation’s leading multi-family offices for ultra high net worth families, announced today that it has moved to new offices in mid-town Manhattan. The new space, located in a former Rockefeller town house, reflects strong local growth as GenSpring continues to focus on helping families achieve sustainability across generations. The firm defines sustainability as ensuring that resources grow consistently and are not depleted over time while having a positive impact on those that benefit from it.

We are very pleased to move to new space that enables us to accommodate our growing staff and client base in Manhattan,” said Maria Elena Lagomasino, CEO of GenSpring. “While our previous Manhattan office was adequate, the new space provides a superior environment for our New York team to work closely with ultra high net worth families who benefit from our unique, effective ‘high touch’ model of wealth management.”

In GenSpring’s approach to family wealth management, teams comprised of Family Wealth Advisors, Family Investment Officers and Family Service Coordinators work together with no more than 20 families per team. GenSpring’s growing New York team includes:

Maria Elena Lagomasino (Mel) is CEO of GenSpring Family Offices. A recognized leader in the wealth management industry, Ms. Lagomasino was most recently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of JP Morgan Private Bank. Her career in banking began in 1977 at Citibank. She joined the Chase Manhattan Private Bank in 1983 as Vice President and Team Leader for Latin America and was named head of Chase’s worldwide private banking business in 1997. Following the Chase-JP Morgan merger, she became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the JP Morgan Private Bank.

Michael Zeuner is Chief Strategy & Client Experience Officer, responsible for managing GenSpring’s network of family offices. In addition, he has executive team leadership responsibility for strategic planning and marketing. Prior to GenSpring, Mr. Zeuner was Managing Director and Global Head of Wealth Solutions at JP Morgan Private Bank. A management consultant by training, Mr. Zeuner led projects in the financial services area for both Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He joined Chase Manhattan in 1995 as Vice President in the investment bank, and moved to the private bank in 1997.

Michael Holden is Chief Operating Officer of GenSpring. He was most recently Chief Operating Officer of JP Morgan Private Bank. He was previously Director of Global Wealth Management there. Prior to JP Morgan, Mr. Holden spent more than 12 years with The Chase Manhattan Private Bank, before Chase merged with JP Morgan in 2002. During his years at Chase he held progressively more responsible positions, including serving as Chairman and President of The Chase Manhattan Bank of Florida and as US Market Manager at The Chase Manhattan Private Bank.

William P. Barbeosch, an attorney with more than twenty years experience in trust and estate and wealth management issues, serves as GenSpring’s Chief Fiduciary Officer. He is also Chairman of Teton Trust Company, the firm's trust company affiliate. Prior to joining GenSpring, Mr. Barbeosch was Managing Director and Chief Fiduciary Officer of Citigroup Trust and Head of the Fiduciary Solutions Group. Before that, he was a Managing Director with JP Morgan Chase & Co., responsible for a variety of fiduciary planning and administration services for private bank clients worldwide.

Jennifer Wagner, CFA, joined GenSpring from Russell Investments, where she was responsible for the design and implementation of investment strategy for endowments, foundations and pension plans. Previously, she was a Senior Vice President at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. Ms. Wagner serves as a Family Investment Officer.

Chris Trokey, CAIA, CFA, relocated to New York from GenSpring’s Atlanta office, where he continues to serve as a Family Investment Officer. Mr. Trokey has extensive experience dealing with multi-generational families and sophisticated investment needs. Before joining GenSpring, he was Vice President of Capital Private Wealth Management LLC and served in the Private Wealth Management division of Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Dan O’Brien, CPA, has twenty years of family office experience across all areas of high-net-worth wealth management, including wealth transfer, philanthropy, investment management and next generation education. Previously a Director of Merrill Lynch Family Office Services and before that a controller of a private family office in New York City, Mr. O’Brien serves as a Family Wealth Advisor.

Joe Rotella, an attorney, has more than 25 years of family wealth management experience. Prior to joining GenSpring, he was a Director of the Merrill Lynch Family Office Services group. Previously, he was in private practice as a trusts and estates and tax attorney with the firms of Clifford Chance Rogers & Wells, and Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon, in New York City. Mr. Rotella serves as a Family Wealth Advisor.

Hugh Forward, a Senior Portfolio Strategist, possesses 15 years of experience in the hedge fund and alternative investment field. He manages GenSpring’s proprietary hedge fund and is responsible for customizing hedge fund exposure for clients. Prior to co-founding Cadogan Management, Mr. Forward covered research on Smith Barney and Dean Witter hedge funds and worked at Bessemer Securities and Bankers Trust.

“GenSpring’s unique focus on providing objective advice and access to solutions with no conflicts or hidden agendas is helping to propel our growth nationally and in New York City,” said Michael Zeuner, Chief Strategy & Client Experience Officer of GenSpring. “Our recent staff additions and move to new office space in Manhattan reflect strong local growth as ultra high net worth families increasingly recognize and appreciate that we sit on their side of the wealth management table. GenSpring was founded by families for families, and we believe that the additional expertise and office resources will enable us to continue to maintain that approach today and in the future.”

GenSpring’s new office in New York City is located at 13-15 West 54th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The office is in a former Rockefeller townhouse, now a landmark building, on one of Midtown Manhattan’s most prominent blocks. The building, originally built in 1897, was owned by the Rockefeller family for many years and was converted into a contemporary office building in the 1980s.
