GT Software [www.gtsoftware.com], a leading global provider of rapid SOA development solutions that leverage mainframe resources, has reached the significant milestone of 25 years of success in business, consistently realizing its business goals. In fact, its “vibrant user community” has enabled the company to be “consistently profitable over the past 20 years,” Rob Morris, Chief Strategy Officer, told the recent customer advisory forum held at the company’s Atlanta headquarters.
GT Software enables rapid Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) development for the mainframe, using existing skills sets, applications and data, allowing mainframes to become an active participant in an SOA. The company’s technology seamlessly exposes mainframe applications or parts thereof as business services within an SOA.
The company experienced an increase in revenues as well as both its product line and customer base. Morris said GT Software’s “remarkable track record in the software industry was achievable only because of our long history of product excellence and customer loyalty.” He added, “We are also very fortunate to have a team of proactive distributors across the globe who have been instrumental in creating new opportunities for GT Software and providing excellent local support to our international client base.”
Morris reported the company’s annual business growth, currently at 40%, enables GT Software to make increasing investment in people, technology, and facilities. The company continues to attract high caliber team players, particularly development and support resources for its customer base, which now numbers more than 500 enterprises around the world.
With the addition of marquee customers like SunTrust, Lockheed Martin, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW), and Frost Bank, the company’s Ivory customer base increased by 25% in 2007. And, global partners such as EDV-Beratung Machold GmbH (Germany), J.V.L. (France) and Systemation (The Netherlands) increased the company’s world-wide reach.
Founded in 1982, GT Software has thrived in the roller-coaster ride that has characterized the mainframe business. As a business partner and development partner of IBM, GT Software has helped IBM customers convert legacy applications to the new world of SOA and Web services.
In 2007, the GT Software was accepted to the IBM SOA Specialty, after successfully completing IBM’s rigorous SOA technical and business requirements. With this achievement, GT Software’s Ivory Service Architect integrates with the IBM SOA Foundation, a single, integrated platform that combines the industry’s top application server and integration capabilities.
Ivory Service Architect comprises Ivory Studio, a graphical modeling environment, and Ivory Server, a high-performance SOAP processor with runtime service orchestration. In the past year, new versions of two of the elements that comprise GT Software’s flagship product were introduced: version 3.6 of Ivory Service Architect, and Ivory Server for Batch most recently, as well as Linux and Unix versions that had been added previously. GT Software provides organizations with the broadest flexibility in where they choose to house SOA-related workload. Without requiring any changes to the service definition, Ivory supports the deployment of mainframe-based Web services across z/VSE, z/OS, CICS/TS, CICS, IMS, Windows, Wintel, Unix, and Linux.
