NexNav(TM) GNSS WAAS Class Beta-3 Sensor Submitted for TSO
Publish Date : 10/18/2007 10:53:00 AM   Source : South Asia News Onlypunjab.com

Accord Software & Systems, a leader in GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver technology, today announced that the NexNav(TM) GPS WAAS Class Beta-3 sensor has been submitted to US FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) for TSO-C145b approval.

NexNav(TM) is the GPS WAAS Class Beta-3 sensor designed by Accord to the newest U.S. FAA standard, TSO-C145b, compliant with the new RTCA Minimum Operational Performance Standards, DO 229D. Accord has partnered with Spectralux Corporation, a US company based in Redmond, WA, for certification and manufacture of NexNav(TM) .

"This is the perfect time for our GNSS technology to make its debut in the civil aviation segment," said J M Sundaresan, Managing Director of Accord. "The number of applications on airplanes and helicopters for precision GPS WAAS receivers are ever increasing."

"This is a special day for the entire NexNav(TM) team and for our current and future customers," said Michael Burke, President of Spectralux. "As a pilot, I can appreciate the value, capability and wide range of applications the WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) Class Beta-3 sensor will bring to the aviation community."

Already chosen by Chelton Flight Systems, Eclipse Aviation and L3 Avionics Systems, the NexNav(TM) sensor is rapidly becoming the unit of choice for both avionics and airframe manufacturers who need a WAAS Class Beta-3 sensor.

NexNav(TM) GPS WAAS Class Beta-3 receiver card assemblies and LRUs (line replaceable units) are key technologies enabling LPV (localizer performance with vertical guidance) approaches, ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) solutions, constant descent approaches and runway incursion solutions, as well as leading the way for other advanced GNSS applications. NexNav(TM) meets the newest US FAA GPS standard, TSO-C145b, and is fully compliant with the new RTCA Minimum Operational Performance, DO-229D.
