GAMCO Investors, Inc. (NYSE: GBL) today named Mark Yim, CFA as an analyst and portfolio manager for the Gabelli Japanese Value Fund and a member of its Global Growth Team.
Commenting on his appointment, Caesar Bryan, Portfolio Manager of GAMCO International Growth Fund said, “We are delighted to have Mark join our global investment team to help us expand Gabelli & Company’s research skills outside the U.S.”
Mark Yim stated that, “I look forward to working with this superb research institution and to add in-depth research of Japanese companies to Gabelli’s proven research capabilities.”
Mr. Yim was the principal of Cedar Tree Capital Management LLC and formerly principal of Cameron Global Investments LLC, both Asia/Japan long-short hedge funds.
Previously, Mr. Yim was a Partner, International Equities, with Brinson Partners in Chicago for eight years, including a stint heading the Japanese equity team at UBS Global Asset Management in Tokyo. Prior to Brinson, he was a senior analyst with Baring Securities, Ltd., in Tokyo.
Mr. Yim is a New Jersey native, where he graduated from Princeton University with an AB in Comparative Literature. He subsequently earned an MBA in Finance at the University of Chicago.
