Opnext, Inc. (NASDAQ:OPXT), a global leader in state-of-the-art laser technology, today announced the availability of the HL7001/7002MG laser diode for use in medical applications such as blood, analysis light source and endoscopy.
The small size of the 705nm wavelength band laser diode reduces the size of current biomedical measurement equipment while improving the quality of existing medical device applications. The infrared laser diode has a high optical output power, high reliability and the low operating current necessary for medical applications.
“Opnext is dedicated to developing products to meet the latest market needs, such as the biomedical industry,” said Tadayuki Kanno, senior vice president Device Business Unit, Opnext. “We are happy to be able to offer our customers these high quality laser diodes to meet their specific needs for applications in the medical field.”
Exhibiting at Photonics West 2008
Opnext will be located at Booth # 6181 at Photonics West 2008 being held January 22-24, 2008, at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, California.
Photonics West is held in conjunction with BIOS, the world’s largest and most prestigious international biomedical optics and imaging conference.
