New Interactive Video Player
One of the most visited features on Forecast Earth, the in-depth video library has been enhanced with a new video player. Called GreenBox, the new video player adds multiple features including, play lists, search, syndication capabilities, and the ability to e-mail the video's hyperlink to a friend all to help guide users as well as to help make viewing the entertaining and educational videos easier. Highlighting this package is the daily blog by veteran free-lance writer Don Willmott, who will be writing on the latest social, technological developments associated with living "smart" among today's fast-changing messages regarding energy and natural resources.
A new online game from American Public Media called Consumer Consequence, which allows users to view the environmental consequences of their lifestyles and quickly reveal their eco-footprint. The game represents player's scores as the number of "Earths" it would take to support their lifestyles and shows players what the world would look like if everyone on Earth had the same habits.
New consumer-lifestyle sections including a green living section and science section. The green living section offers tips for living efficiently whether by saving dollars or reducing carbon emissions, while the science section provides in-depth reporting as it relates to the environment and climate change.
