How do you really curb your cravings effectively? Is there really a way to reduce cravings?
Over 90% of men experience food cravings. Instead of telling you "just don't eat it", I decided to create a unique, effective game plan to help deal and combat food cravings.
Your brain will continue searching for a resolve, a means of pushing you until you find that release that will satisfy the cravings.
Here's a list of how you can curb cravings for effective food craving control:
1.Avoid consuming less than 1000 calories a day. By consuming less than 1000 calories a day you will most likely leave out a food group that's needed for a proper, complete and healthy daily diet. Most people that consume less than 1000 calories a day are in fact not thinner than those who consume a regular caloric intake. Also, this kind of calorie restriction will most likely lead to binge eating. Try to spread out your calories throughout the day and aim for 1500-2000 calorie days. Spread out this 1500-2000 calories into 5-6 small meals. This will keep you satisfied and also maintain a healthy fat burning metabolism throughout the day.
2.Try to associate eating with being "satisfied" and not "full", as your probably used to. People mostly eat until their full. Just calm it down a little and eat until your satisfied.
3.When your having food cravings try to create an emergency distraction. Turn on the ipod, your favorite tunes, call up a friend, do something you were putting off or go exercising. Being with friends, music and exercise are all really great ways to pass the time until the craving is gone.
4.Get enough sleep! Studies at the University of Westminster has determined that a few sleepless nights a week can raise and trigger your appetite by as much as 40%! If you are tired and find yourself reaching for coffee throughout the day, opt for sugar-substitutes instead of real sugar. Anything is better than high calorie foods even if you are tired.
5.Try the "STOP TECHNIQUE" when you desire instant craving control. When you realize your having an unnecessary food craving, say out loud to yourself" STOP"! Then picture yourself lean and fit. Try to also picture how your sabotaging your results by not using the "Stop technique".
6.Avoid stocking up on junk food at home.
7.Avoid being around a lot of snacks during times when you have food cravings and can't curb your cravings. Try to shift your focus on other activities such as work, doing chores around the house, reading, listening to music or anything your passionate about.
Realize that food cravings are only temporary and they CAN pass if you shift your focus.
Utilize these methods of craving control, make them a part of your daily life and you'll be well on your way to long term weight loss healthy balance.
