Ok, so what do I mean by "take a look around"? Well, stop yourself for a minute when you're at the grocery store or gas station, take a good look around and observe some other people and what they're doing. Can you provide them with a service or product that will enhance their lives, save them time or make life easier? Well, probably not right then and there. But, try and translate what you observe to a product or service that you can promote on the internet. This isn't always easy, but if you are observant to what is going on around you in public, chances are pretty good that a niche or sub-niche will eventually present itself.
Another great place that helps with finding hot niches or products is in magazines. You know, those last 3 or 4 pages of your favorite magazine that have all the ads on them? Yeah, those pages plus the larger, full page ads that are scattered throughout the magazine are GREAT places to find a niche to market to. Finding hot niches in magazines is something that is being done by very few people.
So what does that mean for you?
Simple. It should be a relatively low-competition niche that you could potentially make a boat-load of affiliate money from! Ok, so let's say you find a product to promote and you find that there's a TON of people already pushing it. No worries! Simply narrow down your niche to a sub-niche and do some more focused marketing to a smaller group of people. You may be surprised to find that there is very low competition in those "niches within a niche"!
One other resource I use to find untapped, niche markets is television. That's right!...good old-fashioned television can make finding hot niches a snap!
Have you ever seen an infomercial that you just could turn off for some reason? Exactly! I have too!So now, look online and see if they have an affiliate network or some way you can get paid to promote the product. You'd be shocked to find out how many people won't call those "infomercial 800 numbers", but instead use the internet to place the order. Your job now becomes the middle man...so to speak. If you can properly promote the product so those people find your ad first, you'll get a piece of the commission. The best part is that THEY are doing all the work and paying all the money to have an infomercial! All you're doing is intercepting them before they purchase!
Ok, that's enough tips for now! Just take a look around you...and be observant! There are niches everywhere you look these days. Finding hot niches shouldn't be such a brain-racking task...so don't make it one!
