The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation Announces Grant to the Greeley Center for Independence
Publish Date : 1/5/2008 4:06:00 AM Source : Culture and Community News
The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation announced today that it has granted $150,000 to the Greeley Center for Independence, Inc. to support its proposed addition to, and renovation of, its North Colorado Therapy Center.
The proposed two-story addition to the North Colorado Therapy Center will include an accessible primary care community clinic designed specifically to comfortably provide needed medical services to people with moderate to severe physical disabilities and/or acquired brain injuries. Among other things, the proposed clinic will administer basic tests that will determine if a patient is in need of seeing a specialist, thereby efficiently utilizing the time and skills of the specialists available in the community. The addition will also make innovative use of technology to foster collaboration with existing local hospitals and to safely and efficiently move patients within the facility.
"We are excited to support the Greeley Center for Independence in this important project," said Ms. Betty Louie, President of The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation. "The Greeley Center for Independence has an excellent track record for providing much needed services to the disabled community, and we are thrilled to be a partner in its work."
The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation's mission includes providing support to qualified organizations engaged in healthcare, including those organizations caring for and supporting disabled people, qualified organizations engaged in medical research and such other organizations that seek to improve the conditions and technologies for sick and disabled individuals. |
