MuleSource Unveils “Mule Unlimited” Pricing Model to Drive Enterprise-Wide Mule ESB Deployments
Publish Date : 2/12/2008 8:11:00 AM Source : Software and ERP News Onlypunjab.com
MuleSource, the leading provider of open source service oriented architecture (SOA) infrastructure software, today introduced Mule Unlimited, a new pricing model that gives customers the freedom to scale Mule across their infrastructure. For a single subscription price, customers can deploy the Mule Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platform as needed, without limit on the number of instances or processors, for up to one year. This makes it easier and more affordable for customers to move from development to production deployment with Mule technology.
“Open source software has proven over the last decade that there is a better way to build, distribute, and support software. Customers have been held hostage for too long by legacy software vendors like TIBCO and Oracle, with high up-front license costs and proprietary architectures. The days of software inhibiting, rather than empowering, enterprise IT are over,” said Dave Rosenberg, CEO of MuleSource. “Mule Unlimited is about giving customers unparalleled freedom in how they use Mule in their IT infrastructures. Customers now have a better way not only to consume enterprise software but also to scale their usage while keeping costs manageable and predictable.”
Michael Cote, analyst, RedMonk, commented: “For companies that want to deploy and use supported Mule across dynamic, changing environments, unlimited support will look attractive. Some of the more interesting use cases for Mule involve deployment over an unknown of nodes. At a certain point, tracking the support coverage across all of the instances of Mule deployed across such a network may be a burden, so unlimited support may make such pervasive deployments less of a headache. Enterprise wide licensing like this is usually reserved for high-paying customers so this pricing scheme may be a new option for some classes of customers.”
Mule Unlimited makes it easier than ever for customers using the Mule platform to roll out their deployment without incurring incremental processor-based subscription costs. For a single annual fee, Mule Unlimited offers a Gold-level MuleSource subscription – 40 incidents per year with a 24-hour response time – across an unlimited number of Mule instances. Mule Unlimited also comes bundled with sophisticated management tools – Mule HQ for systems management and Mule Saturn for business data monitoring. Customers will benefit from a drastically lower total cost of ownership (TCO), making it a must-have for enterprise-level deployments and mission-critical applications.
“One of the reasons we chose Mule is that the technology allows for many different deployment topologies, supporting a distributed service oriented architecture,” said Eugene Ciurana, director of systems infrastructure, LeapFrog Enterprises. “The beauty of Mule Unlimited is that we can build our architecture to best suit our needs without being constrained by costs.”
