Valt.X Announces Secure Failsafe and Instant Recovery Engine (SFIRE) Providing Hardware Based Security for Endpoint Computers
Publish Date : 11/5/2007 8:09:00 AM Source : Hardware News OnlyPunjab.com
Valt.X Technologies Inc. (www.valtx.com), a leader of innovations in computer security technology, today announced Valt.X Secure Failsafe and Instant Recovery Engine, SFIRE to provide greater security on any endpoint computers. The SFIRE technology is built into System on Chip Semiconductors which can be embedded in new Desktop, Notebook and Server computer mainboards, hard disk drives and on Add-on Security Controller Cards for any Desktop and Server computers. The Valt.X SFIRE Ultra Security Chip and the Valt.X SFIRE Computer Security Controller PCI-e Card will be released in the first quarter of 2008.
Valt.X claims that the SFIRE technology provides four special features to any computer
- ensures that a computer can always boot from a secured system image on the local hard disk drive protecting the image against virus attacks, malware, software failures or system malfunctions.
- Provides Instant Restore and Recovery, a Instant Clean Roll-back function eliminating a lengthy process of restore or recovery operations in case of patch failures, malicious attacks or inadvertent errors.
- Provides up to eight Multiple Bootable Partitions that can be used for multiple points of backup and/or multiple bootable systems with different Operating Systems including Windows, Vista, Linux, Unix and/or Mac on the single hard disk drive, and.
- Encryption that is Real-time hardware based key-less encryption.
"We are very pleased to announce our new product, SFIRE, Secure Failsafe and Instant Recovery Engine, new computer security approach against virus, malware and Cyber warfare," said Dennis Meharchand, CEO of Valt.X Technologies Inc. "There are many software based anti-virus or anti-malware and detection/removal products in the market today however these products are disabled first and targeted by malware. Most of these anti-malware software products check against known malware images and are provided very little protection for new ones. But we are living the world experiencing a new virus almost on everyday basis attacking computers around the world and they are becoming more sophisticated."
Valt.X's patented technology creates the secure space that is independent of Operating systems so that nothing could enter or destroy the secure space created by SFIRE Chip after the initial installation of up to eight secured partitions. The technology is built in a semiconductor chip and takes control of hard disk drive operation which is totally transparent to any running systems. Valt.X has been granted 14 patents to date.
Dennis Meharchand added, "Valt.X SFIRE Technology will open the new dimension to technical support in computer industry. The SFIRE always maintains the secured good working images that can be called Internal Failsafe-Backup systems to rely on regardless of system failures such as virus or hacker attacks, system upgrades or patch failures unless physical damages with the hard disk drive itself. When the system fails to respond to technical support engineers, there is not much one can do. However, our SFIRE can instantly restart computer from any one of the secured system images and you are up in working condition. You will never lose your system any more! We provide a failsafe backup restart system similar to the one on Aircrafts while we never had one for computers. Similar to Aircraft, SFIRE provides Failsafe Restart instantly and enable its continuation of business operations. A big problem today is that so many online services are pushing you to download pieces of software to view or access to what you want to do, but we cannot tell what are coming into our computer and whether they are good or bad. With our SFIRE engine on board the computer, these fears are easily eliminated."
Many educational institutions have discovered an interesting application of Valt.X SFIRE Engine utilizing Instant Clean Roll-back for student use of computer that is needed to be clean all changes made after each student session. Today, larger capacity of hard disk drives may take many hours or even days to recover or restore to its normal operation whereas the Valt.X SFIRE Engine can restore the system operations by only restarting the computer.
SFIRE Chip and Add-on Card will be released in the first quarter of 2008.
Valt.X Valt.X Technology is a privately held high technology company headquartered in Toronto, Canada and funded by individual private investors.
