Topics such as, your sister's wedding, your roomate's honeymoon, what kind of wedding you hope to have some day, the dress you've picked out, and mentioning your ticking biological clock, are all ways to say you are desperate to find someone soon and get married. The implication when you say it this way is that you almost don't care who it is...it just needs to be someone soon. This is unflattering to your lover and they may feel like they are about to be used.
You don't want to scare the guy away so that he never asks you out again, or, have him forget your name and phone number. If you don't want to skip over all the attractive guys and go straight for the clinging, hopeless ones, don't do the above. These are three easy ways to lose a lover.
