Datawatch Monarch|RMS Extends the Value of IBM DB2 Content Manager OnDemand with Web-based Report Mining and Analytics
Publish Date : 12/18/2007 5:53:00 AM   Source : IT and Management News Onlypunjab.com

Datawatch Corporation (NASDAQ-CM: DWCH), a leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), today announced that its web-based report mining and analysis solution, Monarch|RMS (Report Mining Server), is now integrated with IBM DB2® Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD).

Organizations need to capture and store information from diverse sources and make it available via the web, in the right format, for faster decision making. Monarch|RMS bridges the gap between business intelligence and content management, giving users the power to analyze and work with not simply view the data in reports and other documents, resulting in better decision making and increased ROI.

Based on Datawatchs industry-leading Monarch report mining technology, Monarch|RMS turns static reports stored in a customers CMOD system into real, actionable data with the simple click of a mouse. Companies that utilize and store large amounts of text-based reports can mine and transform their report data online for easy analysis, either through a web browser or their favorite productivity tool. Users can easily sort and filter relevant report data, summarize hundreds of megabytes of data with sub- and grand-totals and perform multidimensional cube or OLAP-style analysis. Monarch|RMS also enables users to export data to widely-used applications, including existing templates and spreadsheets, and transform all report data into XML for browser-based forms presentation.

Key features:

  • Improved Access to Information Monarch|RMS leverages the reports already available in the organization and eliminates long-standing problems associated with printed reports and other structured business documents such as invoices, statements and forms by transforming them from static, inflexible, read-only documents to a new and valuable source of live data that can be effectively used for analysis, decision support, presentation and application integration.
  • Web-based Analytics Through a web browser interface, users can transform reports into data tables, charts, graphs, Excel spreadsheets, multidimensional cubes for advanced analytics, PDF files or XML forms. In addition, users can perform dozens of ad hoc sorts, filters and calculations on the data for further analysis.
  • Ease of Installation and Use Unlike typical business intelligence products, no programming work is required for installation or use. Monarch|RMS can be installed within days and within minutes of deployment, users are productive. Monarch|RMS also reduces or eliminates the need for custom report writing by the IT staff.

Lighthouse Computer Services has been a trusted IT advisor to leading companies throughout the Northeast for over 11 years and is a winner of IBMs 2006 Beacon Award for Overall Technical Excellence in a Business Partner. Lighthouse recently partnered with Datawatch to help its clients leverage their existing investment in archived reports to significantly improve corporate information access and analytics without the need to invest in a data warehouse.

Our partnership with Datawatch allows our clients to utilize a previously untapped source of valuable business intelligence, their IBM CMOD repository, said Christopher Weisz, ECM practice leader, Lighthouse Computer Services. The market is demanding rapid adoption of BI tools for the entire workforce, not just the few power users. Monarch|RMS meets this need because it can be implemented very quickly, without programming, and best of all, it requires very little (if any) training for the end user. The results for our customers are better decision making and increased ROI.

For many companies, the answer to smart business intelligence does not mean giving everyone in the company access to BI tools, said John Kitchen, senior vice president and CMO for Datawatch. Instead, the key to solving real business problems with less pain is as simple as having the ability to access high quality, mission-critical data locked in existing reports. By integrating Monarch|RMS with IBM DB2 CMOD, organizations can dramatically extend the value of their existing reports without the costs and complexities of traditional BI software.
