Publish Date : 12/19/2007 6:12:00 AM Source : United Kingdom News Onlypunjab.com
Sir John Whitmore, internationally acclaimed coach and leading expert in coaching, leadership and organisational change, has been recognised today for his outstanding contribution to the field of coaching. Sir John is known for his extensive and frequently groundbreaking work in the field of coaching, and is a committed proponent of the value of coaching, across cultures and the globe. The British Psychological Society's Special Group in Coaching Psychology has today announced that Sir John will receive the Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Coaching Conference Award.
The award will be presented to Sir John at the 3rd National Coaching Psychology Conference to be held at City University London, on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 December 2007, organised by the British Psychological Society's Special Group in Coaching Psychology.
"Sir John has made a significant contribution to the field of coaching at both a national and international level", said Dr Siobhain O'Riordan, Chair of the Special Group in Coaching Psychology. "We are very pleased to present him with this conference award and welcome him as a keynote speaker at our 3rd National Coaching Psychology Conference.
"The coaching industry has matured greatly since the early days when I joined the game a couple of decades ago; however, the need for the message of coaching, and the self-responsibility it generates in others, has never been greater", explains Sir John. "The world today and leaders therein are struggling with many new challenges: globalisation, climate change and the growing gap between the rich and poor. The new order of thinking that coaching generates is urgently needed." |
