The Young Adult reading markets have a new addition with the recent release of: The Sword of Yesher, by Judi Calhoun. This new book, released and available through book stores nationally, is published by MidAmerica Publishing Company in Austin, Texas, and will be widely available after the holiday season.
Readers of Young Adult chapter books have a new treat as Judi takes them on an adventure through the dragon infested lands of the sci-fi world. Fast paced action, fun, triumph and defeat are all elements that will keep you on the edge of your seat - start to finish.
"Judi conducts an adventure tour into the unknowns and the reader never has to leave their chair," explains Scott Damschroder, Publisher of MidAmerica Publishing Company, and project editor. "Whether you are a sci-fi fan or new to the genre, this book is a thrill ride to the end."
Trained at Palomar College in San Marcos, California, where she majored in English, Fine Arts and Pictorial Arts, Judi was the winner of an education scholarship, and many other awards for her visual work. She has sold her pieces to corporate buyers and was featured in San Diego Home and Gardens Magazine.
"As many authors, Judi was propelled into writing and illustrating children's books by a love of her stories by her grandchildren," said Scott. "Her background in illustration and visual arts allowed her to transition to the children's media markets with incredible illustrations to ground her stories to the visual senses."
As a career professional in the field of fine arts, and as an animal portrait artist, Judi is also a recognized Art and Workshop teacher in the North Country of New Hampshire, both privately and as a member of CRAG, Connecticut River Artist Group. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries throughout the United States.
Judi is a life-time member of two honor societies; PTK and AGS, she is also a member of SCBWI, CRAG, LINKS of Northern New Hampshire business group, Micro Credit and American Image Press.
