Using the Visioneer OneTouch® Links Software Development Kit (SDK), Software Connections developed a link that allows users to scan documents from a Xerox® DocuMate® or Visioneer scanner directly into Laserfiche electronic repositories with the touch of a single button. Demonstrations will be given at the Visioneer booth next week during the Laserfiche Institute Conference in Los Angeles, California, January 14-16, 2008.

Software Connections named this powerful tool the Laserfiche Link (LFLink). Using LFLink, paper documents can be scanned directly into a Laserfiche repository using a Visioneer or Xerox DocuMate scanner with OneTouch technology. The LFLink is a direct interface between the scanner and the Laserfiche document management system that enables users to scan documents directly into a Laserfiche repository with the touch of a single button. Once a document is scanned, the text is “read” using the latest Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, then it is full-text indexed. Subsequently, Laserfiche can find files based on any word or phrase in the document. Searches can also be conducted using any information stored in the electronic template that’s been applied to a document, such as key words, dates and invoice numbers. Laserfiche can search through millions of documents in seconds to find the exact information needed.
Studies show that a typical professional spends one-half to two hours each day simply searching for documents. This takes away valuable time that could be spent actually making use of the information. Laserfiche solves this problem by revolutionizing the filing process and providing a means to rapidly share and manage all documents contained within the system.

The OneTouch Link to Laserfiche will initially be available to resellers both directly from Software Connections and through the Laserfiche Order Desk.
Visioneer SDK for ISVs
The Visioneer OneTouch Link SDK is a wizard-based template that can be used to easily implement new functionality within Visioneer’s OneTouch interface. Links developed with the OneTouch Link SDK will have access to all OneTouch functions, including the benefits of Kofax VRS technology that is integrated into Visioneer OneTouch. Links can be created to provide scan-to destinations such as applications, devices (printers or fax servers) or locations (network or local folders).
