This is a debatable question that strikes a lot of controversy. There are a couple of different reasons why people think we should have a cell phone directory and why we should not. So what are these reasons?
Here are some reasons why people think we should not have a cell phone directory.
One: There are many people who don't want their cell phone numbers to be made public. They want their privacy. This is understandable but it can make it very hard to find a cell phone number when you need it.
Two: There are many people who don't want telemarketers getting a hold of their cell phone numbers because everyone knows how annoying that can be. By not having a cell phone directory they don't have to worry about this happening.
Three: Then there is the fear that their other personal information will be made public and not just their cell phone. This is a big reason why some people don't want to have a cell phone directory made available.
Here are some reasons why there are some people who want to have a cell phone directory available.
One: It will become harder and harder to keep track of cell phone numbers because of the rising number of people who are getting and using cell phones. Adults and kids everywhere use cell phones.
Two: With more and more people using their cell phones for their primary home phone it is becoming more important than ever to have a way to find the cell phone numbers. You never know when you will have to get a hold of someone because of an emergency or some other reason.
Three: With all of the people who have cell phones, there are a lot of them that have their phone number changed and it is becoming very hard to keep track of all of the cell phone number changes.
Eventually there will have to come a time when some type of cell phone directory is made available for free. Some people want this and others don't. If you don't want your number to be in a directory then you can always get an unlisted number. We have a telephone directory for landline phones, why not one for cell phones too?
