CaseCentral, a leader in delivering eDiscovery solutions to FORTUNE 1000 corporations and the law firms that serve them, today continued the expansion of its executive team, naming Ted Sergott as chief technology officer and vice president of engineering, and promoting Tyler Robbins to vice president of customer operations. Following the naming of Tom Thimot as the company’s CEO earlier this month, the new executives provide a solid foundation for an aggressive push to roll out new products and expand markets.
“CaseCentral is preparing for a very active 2008, both in terms of our product development and our markets, and we needed a highly experienced, savvy team in place,” said CaseCentral CEO Thimot. “Our success at helping FORTUNE 1000 organizations regain control of eDiscovery has fueled a corporate customer growth rate of 109% CAGR over the past 3 years, and our expanded executive team will be accelerating that growth in the months ahead.”
“Ted’s leadership and experience in SaaS management, development, architecture, and operations, and his track record for delivering large-scale, mission-critical products on time and within budget, will help provide the clear direction and focus we need to deliver the solutions our customers need,” said Thimot. “Tyler’s contributions to CaseCentral over the last 10 years cannot be overstated. Not only did he lead the development of the industry’s first hosted, on-demand evidence management repository, his deep understanding of our customers, products, and market will continue to ensure that we execute effectively and deliver on our promises.”
CaseCentral enables corporations and law firms to standardize their approach to eDiscovery using a hosted service that drives down litigation costs, lowers risk, and is flexible and scalable for the hundreds of legal and regulatory matters and millions of documents large enterprises handle each year. CaseCentral was the first company to introduce hosted eDiscovery and the first to unveil a centralized, multi-matter, multi-party evidence repository.
“Increased regulation, increased litigation, and increased document volumes, along with tighter budgets and uncertain market conditions have made the need for CaseCentral’s solutions more critical than ever before,” said Ted Sergott, the new CTO and vice president of engineering at CaseCentral. “Our compelling combination of technology, feature set, and customer service can dramatically reduce litigation costs, and we expect 2008 to be a breakout year.”
Sergott brings a 24-year record of accomplishment in product development, engineering, systems, and operations to CaseCentral, as well as deep experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions and large-scale databases. Prior to joining CaseCentral, Sergott was the CTO for BenefitStreet, where he led the development of the new Benefit platform. Prior to BenefitStreet, he was the CTO at MarkMonitor and PaymentOne where he led the development of SaaS solutions for the Internet security and payment processing markets respectively. Sergott also worked at Charles Schwab for five years in systems and management roles in the CRM, trading, public offering and portfolio management businesses. He earned his Executive MBA from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif., and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Madonna University in Livonia, Mich.
Tyler Robbins has been with CaseCentral for 10 years, previously serving in the roles of senior director of operations, manager of development, chief architect, and litigation support domain expert. He led the development of the first version of the CaseCentral product and managed the development and support of V2 through V4. He also built or oversaw development of other products including eConversion processing tools and DealCentral versions 1 and 2. Prior to CaseCentral, Robbins held positions with IBM Global Services and Webcor Builders. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with a minor in Technical Communication from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
