Kira Campervan Rentals launch new multilingual website to cater for the growing demand from foreign visitors as demand soars.
Fast growing Scottish campervan rental specialist, Kira Rentals, this week launched the latest incarnation of their website aiming it squarely at foreign tourists. Robert McCandless (founder & director of the firm) says
" last summer we trialled a German version of our site & saw the number of guests from Germany & Switzerland increase by 20%, following that response we have now created versions in French, Spanish, Dutch as well as German & we expect to see similar increases"
Launched in 2003 the firm specialises in 2 person campervans and has always targeted inbound visitors. This summer saw foreign customers making up 50% of the guests.
"The response from Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland has been very positive, not only are they appreciative of the service we offer but the vast majority of comments about Scotland have been very positive. Visitors invariably come back extolling the virtues of our campsites, beaches & mountains, even this summers terrible weather didn't seem to put off many visitors."
The old images of over cooked food, grumpy campsite wardens, & dirty public toilets have virtually disappeared. Our guests are definately taking note of the positive welcome they receive around the country. Noted for their attention to details, it's still surprising how many German customers even comment on the quality of our public toilets, well done Scotland. It's the small things that make all the difference.
Travellers concerned with seeing as much of the natural beauty of Scotland as possible on their touring holiday have a growing range of campervan rental firms to choose from. Small part time family ventures through to the larger specialists like Kira. According to the founder of Kira there is plenty of room for growth. "We envisage another year of growth in our business, having doubled in size during 2007 we are currently seeking funding for further expansion over the next 2 years. Obviously the inbound tourist market is going to be key to that & it is encouraging to constantly receive positive feedback from our guests as they tour the country"
Can Scotland become a campervan touring destination to match New Zealand or Canada? According to Mr Mccandless there is no reason why not. We also have great scenery, lots of open spaces & hundreds of quality campsites &. In this noisy, overpopulated, planet a chance for visitors to unwind, breath in our clean fresh air & take things easy for a while is a real attraction.
