With 30 overseas construction offices, Daewoo E&C mainly relies on satellite WAN links for connecting branch offices to its data center. Satellite bandwidth is expensive and causes serious latency issues, since the distances from ground locations to an orbiting satellite are so great. The ability of the Blue Coat ProxySG appliances to address these challenges, by simultaneously reducing bandwidth consumption and overcoming latency issues, was key to the selection by Daewoo E&C.
