GHN-Online Releases Healthcare Reimbursement Scorecard: ASCs Using Visum Produce Best National Average
Publish Date : 2/19/2008 7:01:00 AM Source : Health News Onlypunjab.com
GHN-Online, the healthcare industry’s leading provider of real-time revenue cycle management solutions, today released its ASC reimbursement scorecard. The scorecard discloses the average number of payment days for a clean claim from payers (extracted from the payers remittance advice reports) for clients using Visum™, GHN-Online’s next-generation revenue cycle management tools and end-to-end transaction processing solution. The average number of payment days for Visum users is 10 vs. a national ASC median of 45 days, the latter of which reported in the “2007 Intellimarker ASC Financial and Operational Benchmarking Study.”
The Intellimarker study, published by VMG Health, surveyed ASCs nationwide on a number of issues spanning staffing, specialties, expenses, and salaries. It cited the average number of days outstanding in Accounts Receivable across centers as approximately 45 days. The GHN-Online payer-payment-cycle scorecard is based on the reimbursement data-stream of clients using Visum. The following is a sampling of the average days-to-pay as reported to GHN-Online: Aetna: 9 BlueCross BlueShield: 8 CIGNA: 11 Medicare: 14 United Healthcare: 4 Others: 13
“These data suggest that ASCs using Visum are reimbursed four to five times faster than those not using GHN-Online’s Visum, and that our technology helps to improve each facility’s cash flow and operational sustainability,” noted Azadeh Farahmand, CEO of GHN-Online. “Producing clean claims requires compliance with nearly all types of operating rules and billing permutations. Blending the right scrubbing and claims submission technology with predictive analytic tools generates radically improved results for our clients.”
