The Barrie Athletic Club draws World Class Field to the First Annual Nexgen Invitational.
Some of the world's top squash players will gather in Barrie, Ontario on February 22nd and 23rd, 2008. The small but impressive field will be contending for $30,000 in prize money. Confirmed for the event are World # 1 Amr Shabana, World # 2 Ramy Ashour, both from Egypt, World # 4 Gregory Gaultier of France, World # 9 John White of Scotland, and two top Canadian players will also be competing, Shahier Razik and Graham Ryding.
"This event is great for our club and for the city of Barrie. We have been fortunate enough to have some of these great players here before and they have always enjoyed the club and the reception they get from the fans here in Barrie", said Paul Ryan, owner of the club.
Nexgen Lasers is a local company that distributes cosmetic laser equipment. "This tournament would not be possible without Nexgen Lasers substantial financial support" said Paul Ryan, owner of the Barrie Athletic Club. "This will definitely put us on the international squash map"
