The idea for the Woobies -- and the name -- comes from a family tradition. Hallows' husband's grandmother made and gave each of her grandchildren custom-made blankets, which she called Woobies, when they were born. Of course Hallows' own children each got one also, and they have been the babies' prize possessions.
