Avolve Software, developers of ProjectDox® communication and collaboration software, announced today that it will donate funds raised through the company’s Greener Government awareness campaign to American Forests, the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizens’ conservation organization, and a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration.
For each document downloaded from the company’s web site during the Greener Government 2008 campaign, Avolve Software will donate $1 U.S. dollar to American Forests’ Global ReLeaf®, which translates to one tree planted in a U.S. forest, including the reforestation of Southern California wildfire regions. “We’re energized to eliminate paper from local governments’ construction review processes, and what better way to raise awareness than to be a positive force for reforestation through American Forests,” said Ron Loback, president and CEO of Avolve Software. “Planting trees in exchange for electronic documents gives everyone we’re speaking to an opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on the environment.”
Publications available for download include an ePlan white paper and a Green Calculator, which local officials can use to project the positive impact of ePlan Submission, Review and Tracking on their community.
Avolve Software recently launched its Greener Government 2008 campaign using direct marketing efforts to build awareness about the ecological benefits of electronic plan submission and review. The Greener Government campaign runs through June 30, 2008.
“American Forests is very pleased to have the support of Avolve Software in planting trees, and as the nation’s oldest citizens’ environmental group, applaud the overall reduction of paper and other carbon-based resources that can be realized through new technologies,” said Deborah Gangloff, Executive Director of American Forests. “American Forests urges everyone to be knowledgeable and take action to reduce their carbon footprint, and there’s no better way than planting trees,” she added.
About American Forests and Global ReLeaf
American Forests (americanforests.org) is the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizens’ conservation organization. Citizens concerned about the waste and abuse of the nation’s forests founded American Forests in 1875. The organization is proud of its historic roots in the development of America’s conservation movement and proud of the new approaches the organization has developed to help people improve the environment in the 21st Century. Initiated in 1988, Global ReLeaf is American Forests' education and action program that helps individuals, organizations, agencies, and corporations improve the local and global environment by planting and caring for trees. Since that time Global ReLeaf has planted over 25 million trees making American Forests a world leader in tree planting for environmental restoration.
