Australian Recording Artist David Hudson Has Released 'Dream Road' in the U.S.
Publish Date : 10/30/2007 10:24:00 AM   Source : Asia Pacific News Onlypunjab.com

David Hudson, world-renowned Australian recording artist, has released DREAM ROAD, on Australian Sun Records, with national distribution by The Allegro Group. Amazingly, DREAM ROAD is Hudson's first country music CD in a long career which has produced over a dozen albums. Hudson has toured the world five times as a featured guest musician for superstar, Yanni, and he and his music have been featured on the hit television series, Survivor. However, Hudson is no stranger to country music, he hails from Queensland, in the rugged country of the Australian Outback.

Hudson, a true "cultural journeyman," is recognized as one of the world's leading masters of the didgeridoo, an ancient Aboriginal instrument. He is equally at home as a vocalist and guitarist in a broad spectrum of musical styles ranging from World Music to Country. Hudson's captivating performances enchant the listener and take them on a journey exploring the wonders of Australian and Aboriginal cultures, which he describes as "the ancient voice of the future."

DREAM ROAD features Hudson's vocal prowess and shows his love of roots and country music on an exciting collection of songs produced by the esteemed Nigel Pegrum. Hudson co-wrote eight of the songs in collaboration with award-winning songwriter, Mark Mannock.

DREAM ROAD opens with two duets: the simple and plaintive 'Love You Forever,' which includes the rich vocals of actress/dancer/singer Irene Cara (Fame, Flashdance), and the country rock anthem, 'Solid Rock,' with Aussie star, Shane Howard. This track goes to the heart of Hudson's sound, which combines piano, steel guitar, acoustic guitar, harmonica, and a huge backing vocal chorus which all builds and swells with intensity as Hudson weaves in and out with the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo - to stunning effect.

Other highlights include: 'Waiting For The Rain,' a timely and positive song of hope for the end of drought, told over a jangly sound bed of banjo, and steel guitar, and 'Ride On,' a western tale of a cattle drive, delivered so believably by Hudson, you can almost smell the dust. 'Rockin' Years,' a cover of the Dolly Parton tune, closes the CD with Hudson performing a lovely duet with his wife, Cindy.

While Hudson is currently touring the U.S. to support DREAM ROAD, he will also make several appearances as a children's storyteller and music educator - a long-time passion of his. Scheduled performances include stops in Fort Lauderdale, St. Paul, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, and others.
