The Associated Press has appointed Dan Tullberg as its Asia-Pacific business development director, responsible for overseeing business strategy and sales throughout Asia for its Global Newspaper Markets and AP Digital divisions.
This week's appointment was announced by Global Newspaper Markets Vice President Joy Jones. Tullberg, based in Hong Kong, will report to Donald Ma, the new GNM Asia regional director. Tullberg's appointment follows the December departure of Hyeonza Hong, who had been GNM sales director for Asia based in Hong Kong.
Tullberg joins AP from Getty Images where he was director of sales for Greater China, based in Hong Kong. Prior to working at Getty, he was director of sales and service for image licensing company Corbis in London and Tokyo. He also spent seven years at the Financial Times as business development manager and then as regional advertising director.
In his AP role, Tullberg will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and strategic relationships with both traditional and non-traditional media companies. He will handle the entire business development process from strategy and business case development to contract negotiations and operational implementation.
Tullberg, who grew up in Hong Kong, is a graduate of Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden where he studied international business and economics, industrial organization, technology and marketing.
