International Networking Week™, occurring February 4th-8th, 2008, is an initiative of BNI®, the largest business networking organization in the world. The purpose of International Networking Week™ is to raise the profile of networking in the wider community, recognizing it as an essential tool for success in today's business climate.
The goal of International Networking Week™ is to recognize and celebrate the key role that networking plays in the development and success of businesses in every part of the world. The designated week will feature a number of networking events across the globe, the focus of which will be to bring together representatives of government, businesses and the community to network with each other, in order to understand the concept of good networking and to listen to talks given by key networking specialists from various parts of the world. These speakers will offer advice and information on how businesses can grow and succeed through good networking practices.
The inaugural International Networking Week™ was held February 5th-9th, 2007 and proved to be a huge success worldwide. At least 19 countries participated in International Networking Week™ last year (U.S., Canada, Israel, UK, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, India, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, West Indies, and New Zealand) with the number of large-scale events estimated to be in the thousands and the worldwide number of attendees estimated to be 50,000. It is anticipated that these numbers will double during this year's celebration of International Networking Week™.
