Now is the Time to Honor 9/11 Victims and American Soldiers Rather Than Draw Attention to bin Laden
Publish Date : 9/13/2007 1:13:00 AM   Source : American Local News Onlypunjab.com

News reports are hot with the rumors that 9/11 mastermind and internationally most wanted criminal Osama bin Laden will be releasing a video marking the anniversary of his slaughter of innocent men, women and children on American soil six years ago, but now is the time to honor the 9/11 victims and American soldiers rather than draw attention to bin Laden, according to Michael Letney, founder of Sacrifice for Freedom.

"Instead of focusing on bin Laden and his message, we ought to assure that the lives of those who were lost on that tragic September day are never forgotten. And every soldier that has fought in Afghanistan and Iraq carries their banner," says Letney. "It is our armed forces who also should be honored on 9/11 along with those who perished. For it is the American soldier who protects the homeland, who engages the enemy on their own ground that we might be able to live our lives in normalcy. They are the warriors, the patriots, the volunteer professional defenders of American freedom who engage each day with a heroic heartbeat. And their sacrifice keeps us free."

As the 9/11 anniversary approaches, there is a way to honor the troops, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and their families. Letney and Sacrifice for Freedom have developed a way to connect individual Americans who love their troops and the fallen hero's families with a personal memorial, and, at the same time, financially help their children and families through a nationwide donation program. When a donor contributes to Sacrifice for Freedom, a beautiful memorial that commemorates the fallen soldier is sent to both the donor and to the family to which the donor honors.

In addition, proceeds are donated to support fallen soldiers' families and the organizations that serve them, such as TAPS.org-- "Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors," and providing scholarship funds for their children and spouses. Sacrifice for Freedom is a way that Americans can remember 9/11 and at the same time honor the sacrifice America's troops have made to protect our nation. Sacrifice for Freedom honors those who honored the 9/11 victims and all American citizens with the ultimate sacrifice--their lives. About Sacrifice For Freedom

Sacrifice for Freedom is a tribute to the men and women in the United States Armed Forces who have dedicated and sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom. Michael Letney, founder and artist of Sacrifice for Freedom, envisioned this memorial as a catalyst of healing and uniting America through his original design. The goal of Sacrifice for Freedom is to find sponsors from across the nation that will provide the necessary funds to memorialize fallen American soldiers and help their families. Sacrifice for Freedom understands that Americans, regardless of whether or not they agree with war, have a responsibility to embrace our American Soldiers, who are too often are faced with financial and physical hardships as they freely choose to fight for our freedoms and they freedoms of all people. Sacrifice for Freedom memorials are exquisite tributes to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have dedicated and sacrificed their lives for freedom.
