Behavior, characteristics and training of the American Bulldog
The American Bulldog has a great personality for being a family pet. They are loving, great with kids, and very loyal. They do great with other pets, but you may need to socialize them and train them to be gentle with smaller animals in your home. Their build and natural protective character also makes them a great watch dog or guard dog. They were bred to be a hog catching dog and a cattle catching dog so they may not be the best dog to keep around livestock, unless you plan to use them as a working dog.
Health care and grooming of the American Bulldog
This breed is a low maintenance breed. You will only need to brush their coats when it needs it. To train this breed to be a social animal you will need to socialize them with other animals when they are still young puppies, especially if you plan on adding other pets to your family down the road.
