Allegis Group, Inc., the nation's largest privately owned provider of staffing services, announced today the acquisition of privately held Major, Lindsey & Africa, the world's largest and most respected legal search firm. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Founded in 1982, Major, Lindsey & Africa has set the industry standard in legal permanent placement with offices in the United States, London, and Hong Kong. For more than a quarter of a century, MLA has successfully conducted more legal searches than any other legal or executive search organization. MLA's roster of clients includes many AmLaw 100 law firms and Fortune 1000 corporations as well as a host of other organizations. In the only two national surveys ever conducted of legal search firms, MLA was voted "Best U.S. Legal Search Firm" in one and described as being "in a league apart" from all other legal recruiters in the other.
"The acquisition of Major, Lindsey & Africa is an exciting opportunity for us to expand the range of services that we provide to customers in a direction that is consistent with our business strategy," according to Chris Hartman, Executive Vice President of Allegis Group. "Major, Lindsey & Africa brings us an outstanding team of recruiters and managers with proven experience in the legal search industry. Our company cultures and values are well aligned, which will assist us in ensuring a seamless transition for our customers."
Robert A. Major, Jr., MLA's founder, said "We are excited to join the Allegis Group family where we can continue to grow our business and leverage the strengths of both our companies to exceed the needs of our customers. I feel confident this will be a great combination for our employees and our clients." |
