When TalkingRain heard the Adna School District in Lewis County needed bottled water until its own public source was safe to drink again, the company responded with a wave of generosity.
TalkingRain Beverage Company announced it is dispatching 18,000 bottles of its branded spring water to the Adna School District to help it through its dry spell, an after-effect of floods and landslides in Lewis County last month.
The floods and landslides damaged water supply lines and stirred sediment at the filtering plant for Boistfort's drinking water, making water unsafe to drink and resulting in a shut down of the supply in Adna schools. It could take months until safe to drink again. The district tapped out the last of the local Red Cross’ water supply, and about 60,000 bottles of water were sought by the District to help students carry through until the public source is clean.
“We’re hopeful this will make a significant impact on the District’s drinking water shortage,” TalkingRain CEO Doug MacLean said. “This is a perfect example how communities can come together and make what seems like the impossible possible in a time of need.” Since December 2007 TalkingRain has donated nearly $30,000 in product and resources to the flood victims.
This isn’t the first time TalkingRain has quenched a dire situation. It worked with WorldVision in 2006 to donate tens of thousands of its bottled water products to aid Hurricane Katrina victims.
