Publish Date : 2/25/2008 8:25:00 AM   Source : American Local News Onlypunjab.com

NEC Corporation of America, a premier provider of IT, network and identity management solutions, today announced that AMAG Technology has chosen NEC as the Preferred Provider of high availability and disaster recovery software solutions for its physical security software products. NEC’s award-winning ExpressCluster® family of products and AMAG’s Symmetry Security Management Systems will be jointly promoted and marketed extensively by the two companies to AMAG’s network of more than 250 approved installers and system integrators in North America.

NEC's award-winning ExpressCluster software provides fast recovery and continuous protection of business critical applications and data. Recent validation of NEC ExpressCluster X on AMAG Symmetry Security Management Systems means that AMAG installers and system integrators can get the latest in high availability and disaster tolerant access control solutions.

“ExpressCluster is unique in that it is a single integrated high availability and disaster recovery solution for both applications and data to minimize loss of vital physical security visibility and control in the event of hardware, software, and site failures,” said Bob Sawyer, president, AMAG. “ExpressCluster enables us to provide more effective and simplified high availability and disaster recovery solutions to our customers compared to alternative solutions.”

NEC and AMAG have worked together to bring their joint solutions to market since 2006.

“It’s both an honor for NEC and proof of the value of ExpressCluster that AMAG has selected NEC to be their Preferred Provider for its high availability and disaster recovery solution,” said George Wu, director, Software Business Division, NEC Corporation of America. “AMAG has been at the forefront of the access control market for more than three decades and we look forward to continuing joint efforts to enable AMAG’s customers with the latest generation of access control solutions.”

Joint promotional activities will include a featured space for NEC on AMAG’s website, ongoing training, support and marketing, and high visibility at AMAG’s 7th Annual Security Engineering Symposium in Fort Myers, Florida on February 25-27, 2008. Miguel Llerena, enterprise software sales manager, Software Business Division, NEC Corporation of America will present on “Simplified High Availability & Disaster Recovery Solutions” at 4:00 p.m. on February 25, 2008 during the event.

NEC ExpressCluster software provides integrated application and data protection and recovery on industry standard x86 servers to enable lower cost system recovery within minutes of hardware, software and site failures in LAN and WAN environments. ExpressCluster enables easy to deploy and cost-effective continuity solutions for industry standard database, email, and virtualization applications and platforms including Microsoft® SQL, Oracle® DB, IBM DB2®, MySQL®, MS Exchange, Sendmail®, VMware®, Microsoft Virtual Server, Microsoft Windows®, and Linux®.

AMAG’s Symmetry Access Control system is deeply integrated with the Symmetry Video Management and Symmetry Edge Network Controller (ENVS®) to provide an IP security management solution.
