Hecla’s President to Speak at the 2008 Global Metals and Mining Conference

Hecla Mining Company’s (NYSE:HL) President and Chief Executive Officer, Phillips S. Baker, Jr., will speak at the BMO Capital Markets 2008 Global Metals and Mining Conference in Florida on Tuesday, February 26, at 4:00 p.m. (Eastern time). Mr. Baker will present an overview of the company’s recent acquisitions, recent financial performance, and provide an update of the company’s strategy and continuing growth prospects.
A web cast of the presentation will be available on BMO Capital Markets’ web site at BMO Global and Metals Conference (www.bmocm.com). The slides used by Mr. Baker will also be available in the Investor Relations section of Hecla’s web site at www.hecla-mining.com following his presentation.
