SigmaTel, Inc. (NASDAQ:SGTL), a leader in analog intensive, mixed-signal integrated circuits, today announced the appointment of Jose Lau to the position of Vice President of Asia. His responsibilities will include the build-up of the Greater China (Hong Kong, Mainland, etc.) SigmaTel engineering organization which will mainly focus on applications engineering for all product lines and progressing to development engineering over time. He will also be responsible for management of various administrative functions.
Jose will carry out his duties from offices at the recently announced SigmaTel Hong Kong Engineering Center located in the Kowloon area of Hong Kong.

Jose has an EMBA from City University of Hong Kong, an MSc in Software Engineering and an undergraduate diploma in Electronics Engineering. He joins SigmaTel from ST Microelectronics where he worked for 9 years in various engineering management roles. He has another 15 years of experience in engineering and engineering management roles in the electronics industry.
