Rocket Software, a Boston-based developer of Enterprise Infrastructure products, has purchased all of the intellectual property assets of the former Gentia Software from Open Ratings, Inc. These include the leading Balanced Scorecard application (www.balancedscorecard.com), the SPImpact performance management suite, and the Gentia business intelligence engine, which are used by hundreds of leading global organizations across a variety of industries. Open Ratings acquired Gentia's assets in January 2002.
Rocket remains committed to both maintaining and enhancing the Gentia software suite. The company has a history of successfully re-energizing business intelligence products: Rocket purchased Visionary from IBM in 2002, and has built the AirQ Suite as a result of acquiring TCSI Corporation in 2003. IBM DB2 Query Management Facility (QMF) has included Rocket components since 1994.
Peter Richardson, Business Unit Manager at Rocket Software, said, "We have been very impressed by the breadth of features offered by the Gentia infrastructure, many of which will serve to enhance our existing offerings. Rocket sees tremendous value in this software and is committed to maintaining and growing its feature set as we move forward."
Rocket will continue to work with Open Ratings' existing network of resellers, many of whom have actively marketed and supported the product set since the products were introduced. Users can contact their current resellers or Rocket Software for more information.
