Encyclopaedia apologises for Beckham mistake

Soccer star David Beckham received an apology from the Philips Encyclopaedia which wrongly informed readers that he plays for Italian team Inter Milan.
Beckham, who actually plays for Spain's Real Madrid, received an apology from the book's editor, Bill Hemsley, said Contactmusic.com.
But the mistake cannot be corrected until the 2006 edition of the encyclopaedia comes out.
"We hold our hands up. It was an error on our part. We don't know how it happened. We apologise. We don't normally make mistakes like this," Hemsley was quoted as saying.
