This Gujarati grandmother has hit a century - literally.
Leicester-based Valibai Chauhan, who has 12 children, 48 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren, was lavished with presents at a party to celebrate her centenary this week.
About 50 of her relations live in Oadby and Wigston on the outskirts of Leicester.
Chauhan was born in Gujarat, and lived in Kenya, where she helped deliver more than 150 babies as a midwife.
In the mid-1970s, she moved to London, then Coventry, where she lived with her youngest son. She is now at Leicester Royal Infirmary, where she has been staying for the past eight weeks.
Youngest daughter Pushpa Chudasama, 55, said: "This is the first time she's ever been in hospital. I think her long life and good health is down to the great diet people used to eat. Everything was fresh and organic, and I think we could all learn a lot from that."
Granddaughter Josna Ramji said: "Grandma is a lovely person, so kind and caring.
"She thought it was great that she had so many people there to celebrate with her. She wanted to dress up for it and enjoyed posing for all the photos. She hasn't stopped smiling since."
